Yves Ndayisenga

I am 12 years old.  I have an older sister named Chantal.

I came to FIDESCO at the end of November 2011.  When I came to FIDESCO, I stopped smoking and drinking alcohol.  I love how God has continued to change me day after day.

Now, I have FIDESCO as my parents.  I also love to dance because it makes me happy.  I am afraid of dogs.

    Dear Yves,

Hello Yves, my name is Shirl. I live in south philly on catherine street. The school I go to is called EM Stanton and guess what?! The school district is trying to close my school for no reason.

I’m 11 years old. If they close my school we would to go to a more horrible grade school and I wouldn’t like it.
Next, Yves I really enjoyed reading your story. I’m gladed you stopped smoking and drinking. It was bad for you. So did you know that smoking is not helping you get food and things you need? I bet you are happy you stopped smoking. Are you? Also, what exactly did you smoke? How long have you been dancing? You are one year older then me.
Finally, well, Yves I’m going to compare us two. You are 12 and I’m eleven. You’re older than me and I’m younger than you. Also, you did smoke but I never did. Little kids sometimes act like they are smoking candysticks. I saw a picture of you in a dance move on your website. When I said I dance, I’m a dancer for my school.

    Sincerely,
    Shirl H.

Well Yves yes I am going to continue dance and I was dancing for seven months now. The community is trying to help our school stay open because it’s a good school. They are giving out flyers to support the school and on the flyer it says “sos” and that means support of Stanton.I do have plans for dancing. I have a friend who is in my dance class and she sometimes come over to my house so we can dance together. That is how serious I was about dance. Finally, that all about the question you ask me like what is going on about your school and about dance. And good luck in dancing and stay healthy .

    Dear Yves Nadaysenga,

Hello Yves my name is Zipporah M. The school I go to is E.M. Stanton in Philadelphia, Pennslyvania. Let me describe it to you. The cafeteria stinks. It is a big building, 16 classroom, a libary, computer room, art room and, gym. There is an office where you go when you get in trouble, or if you’re late. I am in 3rd grade and nine years old. I stay in the same classroom all day and only leave for art class, gym, or other special classes. I have a sister, two brothers, a mother, a father and 10 uncles. I like to eat chicken wings. It is steak warm, tender and, juicey.

Yves, I choosed you because your life is very interesting. I wanted to ask you a cuple of questions. The first question I wanted to ask you was, why did you use to smoke? I think smoking is bad for you because it can give you lung cancer. The second question is, how is it in Africa. And what I mean is if it is hot or cold or both. Thoose are all the questions I wanted to ask you, Yves.

Our lives are very different. They are different because I do not have to steel potatoes. Next, another difference about us is I never use to smoke. And I am happy you quit smoking because it can damenge your lungs. Well I am looking forward to your respond.

    Sencerly,
    Zipporah M.

      Dear Zipporah,

Hope you are doing great, thanks for your story.
your school seems to be having a lot of children…

well, i used to smoke because i wanted to keep myself from the bad memories and to have some peace of mind and when i didnt have what to eat. i never took it serious that it was bad till when i was seriously told and helped.

In Africa, we sometimes have rain and that when its cold and sometime have sunshine starting like from 06:00am in the morning but it gets too hot at around 11:00am. so now we drawing to rain season but that is here in our country.

its so good to hear from you, thank God you didn’t have to steal cause its not good at all, i now know and i wish all the children do not do that.
thanks again my friend, and i want to wish you all the best in school and keep sturding.

      Yves.

    Dear Yves,

Hi Yves my name is Sevina and I am 9 years old. I go to school at E.M. Stanton. E.M. Stanton is a large brick building in the city with lots of rooms. I can walk from my house to school in 5 minutes. It is a good school but they are going to shut it down unless we have great scores on the PSSA. The PSSA is the biggest test that you really need to focus on. I am in third grade. I have 3 sisters, 0 brothers, 1 mother and father. My favorite thing is go on my computer and my phone to play games like role playing, writing stories, and read. I live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
I chose to write to you beacause I wanted to know why you smoked and drank? Also, I wanted to know how is it in Rwanda? And how many friends do you have? I think Rwanda is very hot.
Next, is the common things first. We both believe in God and dance. The differences are that I have 3 sisters you have one sister, I`m 9 you are 12, and I sing but you don`t sing. You smoked and drank I didn`t ever do those.
Finally, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is a beautiful place, lots of people live here, lots of schools, and lots of houses. I hope you enjoy my letter and write back.

    Sincerely,
    Sevina H.
