Hassan Tuyisenge
I am 11 years old. There are five children in my family, and I am the third. But, it was hard for me to live with my family because they used to beat me. I could not go to school because my family could not pay my school fees. I came to live at FIDESCO at the end of November 2011. I am so thankful for this because I did not want to keep living on the streets.
I loved to dance. It makes me feel like I am growing stronger and adding more energy to my body.
I am afraid of two things in the world: dogs and the devil.
If I had $30 USD, I would buy things to help me in my dance training.
If I could change something in the world, I would change my history so that people don’t talk about me as a child who doesn’t go to school. I want to study, and one day, I want to go back home
As I get older, I want to continue with dance and maybe become an artist.
Dear Hassan Tuyisenge,
Hello Hassan. My name is Yazmeen and I am 10 years old. I go to Universal Institute Charter School. I am in the 4th grade. My mother has only 3 children and I am the middle child. I live in south philly. I like to jump rope. I also like to play the wii. A wii is an electronic game with a remote control. You can play games like Just Dance, Michael Jackson, and Wii Resorts.
I chose you because for you to not be in school and poor, you seem very smart. Also, I chose you because you live on your own. Have you ever went back to your home? Next, if so, did your parents sign you up to go back to school?
Something we have in common is that we both are afraid of dogs and the devil. Also, we both love to dance. What’s different about us is that my parents never beat on me. I don’t live on my own. One thing that I want to learn from you is that what do you do in Fidesco?
From,
Yazmeen R.
