Felix Nkundimana
I am 13 years old. I have lived at FIDESCO since August 2011.
I came from a family of five children. I am the fifth born, and there are two girls and three boys. I don’t steal anymore and I have stopped fighting other people. My mom used to tell me to go on the street and steal, but she doesn’t tell me that anymore.
If I had $30 USD, I would buy a chicken, a rabbit and a cow. Then, I would give these animals to my mother, and she would be able to earn money to pay my school fees so I could study.
Dance makes me happy. I really like dancing fast. I want to become a teacher of dance one day, so others will be happy too. I beg God for this to happen, and I am going to keep working hard to learn to become a dancer everyday. I am afraid of living on the streets again. I am afraid that I will be sent back to the streets, and I don’t want to be there anymore.
Dear Felix,
Hi,my name is Quela . I’m african american, and I have four brothers and one sister,I’m also the fourth born. I live in Fishtown which is in Philadelphia, PA. It’s a very small town that not many people know about. It’s fun to live there by the way. My school is a Sudbury school and it is different then most schools and that is why I like it. My school is different because we mostly get to do what we want and that is the Philly Free School. Well, I’m 10 years old and I like to sing, play guitar, and dancing for fun. I heard that alot of boys like to dance in Rawanda. I have small bit of friends like friend Serenity and Rosemary. Do your friends like to dance or your brothers and sisters dance? We have alot of things alike. For example, I was born into a family of five children. I got in fights alot too. We have alot of things that are different, like I go to school to get an education but I think it’s sad that you cant get an education, but right now I’m still just trying to get $10 anyway. I hope that your life can change soon,
Your friend,
Quela.
